About Us
Coffman Design Collaborative is a sole proprietor architecture and design office, directed by Lauren Coffman. Lauren was raised on the east coast and received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree, an independent Study In Design, from Tufts University. Thereafter, she attended Pratt Institute, where she received her Masters of Science degree in Environmental Interior Design. After working for several years in Manhattan as an interior designer, her passion for design attracted her to study architecture on the west coast where she attended the University Of California Los Angeles and received a Masters in Architecture degree.
Coffman Design Collaborative provides full service throughout the Design Phase, Plancheck and Construction Drawing Phase and Construction Administration Phase. Our projects include and address all aspects of a project’s design including:
Site Design: site and project location analysis, schematic design of access and roadways, design of hardscape, site lighting and schematic landscape design;
Building Envelope Design: building design plans and elevations, interior space planning, construction detailing, material specification, and building lighting;
Interior Design: interior plans and elevations, millwork design and detailing, specification of all finishes and construction detailing, lighting design, project specifications, and furniture/furnishing design.
Coffman Design Collaborative is responsible for the complete process of receiving Planning Department approvals and Building Safety permits for all of their projects. We process and prepare all documents necessary for the required entitlements including complete planning and permit drawings, appeals and variances, submittals and presentations for Design Review Boards, Historic Preservation Overlay Zone Reviews, Planning Commissions and City Council approvals.
Coffman Design Collaborative provides complete and thorough construction drawings by coordinating all project information with their consultants and their client’s consultants and reviewing all project drawings provided by the consulting engineers. We assist our clients during the Bidding Phase, and we administer the construction drawings, review payment requests, respond to field questions and clarification requests during the Project Administration / Construction Phase.
Beyond the office, Lauren serves as Co-Chair of the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council (WHWCNC) Planning Land Use and Mobility (PLUM) Committee, which has afforded her the opportunity to interface with all new development throughout the Woodland Hills community.
Coffman Design Collaborative is very thorough and detail oriented through every phase of the design, permitting and construction process. Our goal on every project is to creatively and professionally produce a project beyond our client’s expectations.
